Leader's Pep Talk

The UiPath MVP Summit 2023 not only gave me the opportunity to connect with other automation enthusiasts but also offered a unique chance to learn from UiPath's top leaders. I was impressed by the leadership sessions led by Arun Balasubramanian - MD, and Prakash Thekkatte - SVP.

Arun Balasubramanian (MD India & South Asia, UiPath), led a session focused on the future of automation and the role that UiPath plans to play in shaping it. He shared UiPath's vision for the future of work and how the company plans to leverage emerging technologies like AI and machine learning to help customers achieve their automation goals. He also gave insights into UiPath's product roadmap and discussed how the company plans to continue innovating and staying ahead of the curve. One significant aspect he explained was how to approach automation customers both tactically and strategically, to deliver value while building long-term partnerships.

Eye-Opener Sessions with UiPath Product Managers

One of the key aspects of the UiPath MVP Summit was the opportunity to directly interact with the product managers. These sessions were designed to provide us with a deeper understanding of UiPath's products and capabilities, as well as insights into the product roadmap.

Here is the exciting sessions we had with UiPath's product managers,

  • Shivaraman Shankar, Naren Venkateswaran: AI Center
  • Monica Luca: Document Understanding
  • Tushar Pandey: Action Center
  • IT Automation: Andrei Oros
  • Venakata Subramanian, Suhail Ahmed, Ravindra Adireddy: Apps
  • Anish Damerla, Samrat Dutta: Integration Service
  • Amol Awate: Test Automation
  • Rajesh Tiwary: Solution Accelerator
  • Andri Oros, Raluca Alina Laic: Studio Web

I found each and every session of the UiPath MVP Summit to be incredibly valuable, but I would like to highlight two sessions that stood out to me in particular.

RPA with Artificial Intelligence

I thoroughly enjoyed the AI session led by Shivaraman Shankar at the UiPath MVP Summit. His quirky explanation of RPA as "hands" and AI as the "brain" that controls the hands really stuck with me.

They had two major goals for AI,

  1. Easy as possible: The first goal is to make the AI Center as easy to use as possible, with the aim of making it accessible to anyone regardless of their technical expertise. This will enable even laypeople to automate tasks using AI, broadening the scope of the platform and making it more widely useful.
  2. Highly Extensible: The second goal is to make it highly extensible, allowing users to easily integrate a wide range of open source or innovative models from the market. By doing so, UiPath aims to reduce the need for users to depend on in-house models or wait for new models to be developed, empowering them to accelerate their automation efforts.
This will pave the way for users to do virtually anything with the platform and broaden its capabilities. With these goals in mind, the team is working hard to develop new features and enhancements that will make the AI Center even more powerful and versatile in the future.

Also, Monica Luca (Product Manager, Document understanding) discussed how UiPath's "Document Understanding" feature is designed to simplify the process of document processing and data extraction by automating these tasks with just one click. The goal is to make it possible for users to quickly and easily extract key information from documents, such as invoices and receipts, without requiring any coding or complex configurations. This will help streamline workflows and reduce the time and effort required for document processing tasks. The world is going to experience those in near future.

They were able to explain complex concepts in a simple and engaging way, and I came away with a better understanding of the capabilities of UiPath's AI technology. Overall, it was a mind-blowing session that left a lasting impression on me.

IT Automation with Studio Web

One session that stood out to me at the UiPath MVP Summit was the presentation on IT Automation with Studio Web, led by Andrei Oros and Raluca Alina Laic. They provided an in-depth look at how UiPath's web-based Studio platform can help automate IT operations, from managing complex infrastructure to providing a better user experience. Their session was both informative and engaging, with plenty of practical examples and demonstrations of the platform's features and capabilities.

What I found most impressive about their presentation was how they emphasized the importance of collaboration between IT and business teams in achieving automation success. They demonstrated how Studio Web can help facilitate this collaboration by enabling IT teams to create reusable workflows that can be customized and shared by business users. They also highlighted the platform's capabilities for monitoring and auditing automation processes, which can help IT teams ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

They were both knowledgeable and enthusiastic speakers who clearly have a deep understanding of the platform and its potential for transforming IT operations. I left the session feeling inspired and excited about the possibilities of automation and the ways in which UiPath can help businesses achieve their goals.

Additionally, I was delighted to have the chance to have a personal discussion with Andrei for around three hours. We talked about a range of topics, including our countries' work culture, vacation, and life. It was an enjoyable and engaging conversation, and I appreciated getting to know Andrei on a more personal level.

Unexpected Summit Surprises

Drum Circle conducted by Drum Events India. The energy and passion on display were simply amazing, and I was blown away by the sheer talent of the performers. One of the highlights of the event was the audience members were invited to join in and play along with the drummers. It was incredible to see people from all walks of life coming together to create music and share in the joy of drumming. The drum circle was led by the charismatic and talented founder of Drums of India, who kept the crowd engaged and energized throughout the entire event.

Overall, Drum Roll was an incredible experience that combined music, culture, mindfulness, and fun. It was a great reminder of the power of music to bring people together and create a sense of community and positive connection.

Hackathon was planned by the product managers was an exciting challenge for all the MVPs. The task was to utilize AI and document understanding technology to come up with a solution in just two hours, working in teams of five. It was a great opportunity for us to put our skills and knowledge to the test, and to collaborate and learn from each other. The hackathon also helped us to understand the importance of teamwork and communication in achieving our goals. Overall, it was a fun and rewarding experience that showcased the power of UiPath's technology and the creativity and ingenuity of its users. (Btw, we managed to grab the 2nd place with our astonishing team members - Srini, Divya, Jobin, Guna)

Gaurav Kheterpal led a thought-provoking session on empowering the community and driving its growth. He conducted a quiz that fully engaged all the MVPs and had us compete with the UiPathians. He also shared an inspiring story of the only MVP from Jaipur and how he was able to build a great community there, turning it into the Salesforce capital of India. It was a great example of how a single person can make a significant impact in their community, and it motivated us all to think about how we can contribute to the growth of the UiPath community.
